SRI GURUBHYO NAMAH SRI PARAMA GURUBHYO NAMAH
SRI PARAMESHTHI GURUBHYO NAMAH
Lighting the lamps in front of the door of every house, particularly in the evening is our custom followed for ages. This custom is followed round the year in some houses, otherwise at least during Kartika Masa and during festivals.
Our Hon’ble Prime Ministers’ call to the nation to light the lamps in front of every house on Sunday the 5 th April 2020 at 9 PM has prompted me to pen this article by collecting info from various sources.
Lighting lamp is not superstition but a science behind it to ensure good health, wealth and prosperity.
The lamp burns to give message of peace and light to the mankind

This is one of the slokas praying the lamp. Lamp is considered as BRAHMAN, the absolute truth and it is radiant.
भोदीपब्रह्मरूपस्त्वं ज्योतिषांप्रभुरव्यय: ।।
आरोग्यंदेहिपुत्रांश्चमत:शांतिं प्रयच्छमे ।।
The lamp is the gross form of TEJA, that is the principle of fire, one of the five primordial elements that has constituted the Universe.
While reciting Sri Durga saptashati or while performing Sri Chakra Pooja it is mandate to light two lamps, one of the Til oil and the other of the Ghee. If we observe closely the oil and ghee lamps, we can see that oil lamp is more yellowish than that of Ghee lamp. If we can measure the heat produced by these lamps, we will surely establish that oil lamp produces more heat than Ghee lamp and Ghee lamp is brighter than oil lamp.
What is important for us to understand is that the electric bulb gives light and to some extent the heat but not THE TEJA, the principle of fire, the AGNI.
This TEJ TATVA, an absolute fire element has frequencies, has the aura of energy, shakti valaya, as well Chaitanya, may be called as consciousness, spirit, sensation. With the combination of all these, lamps emanate particles of energy.
This is shown in the picture appended below.
The yellow coloured circles seen in this drawing emit divine consciousness (chaitanya) in the atmosphere. The red coloured circles are of radiant energy. The burning flame is emitting frequencies full of Tej tattva (absolute fire principle) in the atmosphere. The red particles which we see here are the emitted particles of energy. So we have seen in this drawing how an oil lamp emits energy in the atmosphere.
Here I am posting a picture showing what an electric bulb emanates while giving light as well a bit of heat. We can easily notice the difference
We have seen women lighting ghee lamps made up of lemon skin before DEVI Temples, particularly of Durga Devi temples. These lamps emanate tej in very high frequency and thus the negative thoughts are taken out. Scientific Community, instead of labelling it as superstition they should come forward to measure the frequency of Tej, the absolute principle of fire. They have instruments to carry out such a research.
Lot of information on lamps and its use for the welfare of all living and non-living beings is available in our ancient texts but I restrict this article to convey the message that our PM’s call to light the lamps in front of our doors and to put off the electric bulbs has very scientific reason and no doubt it helps destroying the Mahamari Corona.
I must also mention that the energy of Sun is different from that of Agni, the fire and that is why the SIVA, the concept of universal consciousness is described as SOMA SURYA AGNI LOCHANA. His two eyes are of Sun and Moon and the third eye is the Fire. This proves that the energy of fire is different from that of Sun.
Even in Sri Chakra pooja, Soma mandala, Surya mandala and Agni mandala devatas are separately worshipped.
Let us use five wicks in a lamp representing five primordial elements in each lamp and as many lamps as possible, preferably 9 lamps, which will surely protect us and our houses.
Why PM chose Sunday? Probably because Sunday is ruled by Sun. He also chose 9 PM because 8-24 PM to 9-23 PM SUN HORA operates for Bangalore. Considering the change in Sun rise, sun set time, most part of the country will have SUN HORA at 9 PM.
LET US IMAGINE THE SCENARIO ACROSS THE COUNTRY AT 9 PM ON SUNDAY- ALL THE ELECTRIC BULBS ARE PUT OFF AND THE LAMPS SHINE WITH ALL THEIR BRIGHTNESS IN FRONT OF EVERY HOUSE.
I am also posting a DEVI STOTRA to be played / chanted loudly in front of our houses at 9 PM for 9 minutes.
