Beliefs across globe on eclipses- Eclipses in the year 2020.

I don’t call the beliefs or belief system that is embedded into our ‘CHITTA” as “SUPERSTITION” . If some one calls it so, I have no comments / opinion.  Most of the time these beliefs also have some scientific reason though not neccessarily always.

Not just in India, but in many parts of the globe, pregnant women are asked to not step outside in the open during the Solar / Lunar Eclipse, as people believe that the Eclipse will curse the unborn child. Additionally, these women are advised not to use sharp objects such as knifes as it can lead to birthmarks.
I am told that the people in  United States refer to holy book Bible’s Joel 2:31 which reads “The Sun will turn to darkness, and the Moon to blood before the great and dreadful day of the Lord comes”.
In Tibet, the belief is that during a Lunar Eclipse, both good and bad deeds are multiplied 10 times.
In South Africa, and some other parts of Africa, the belief is that during a Lunar Eclipse, the Sun and the Moon fights and people request them to resolve their conflict and stop.
It is also said that one should not look at the Lunar Eclipse directly without taking any precautionary measures.

Some more research may find belief system in different parts of the globe on Eclipses.

Before our news channels start freightening  us on the forth coming eclipses in this caleneder year 2020, let us try to know about them.

 LUNAR ECLIPSES IN 2020

  1.  5-6 June 2020 PENUMBRAL LUNAR ECLIPSE – Visible in India.
  2.  5 th July 2020 PENUMBRAL LUNAR ECLIPSE  – not at all visible in India.
  3. 29-30 November PENUMBRAL LUNAR ECLIPSE  Visible in part of East India

It is clear that NONE OF THESE THREE LUNAR ECLIPSES ARE EITHER PARTIAL OR TOTAL BUT ONLY PENUMBRAL AND THUS THERE IS NO EFFECT ON NATURE OR ON INDIVDUALS,BECAUSE THE PENUMBRAL LUNAR ECLIPSES ARE NOT RECOGNISED/MENTIONED BY OUR ANCIENT SCHOLARS IN ASTROLOGY IN THEIR TEXTS.

I am afraid, if some one inserts such eclipses also into our ancient atrological texts because we can find such insertion into our ancient texts time to time by the vested intersts.  ( I have no intenton of hurting any one but trying to tell the truth in as much sweet as possible)

SOLAR ECLIPSES IN 2020

  1. 21 June 2020  Annular Solar eclipse – Visible in India – may be less than 40% in most of the places across the country.
  2. 14 December 2020 Total Solar eclipse- NOT VISIBLE IN INDIA- Visible only in part of South America and Part of South Africa

I conclude stating that we have ONLY ONE ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSE IN 2020 which may have some impact on Nature according to our ancient astrological texts.

I am more than happy if the readers contribute their knowledge on the subject and post here.
